Read WhatsApp Messages on Your Desktop
Thanks to updates to the app, it is now possible for you to read your WhatsApp messages directly on your desktop and this in itself is quite an advance in technology. This is something that a lot of people are going to find very useful and the good news is that it does not involve a third party app,but instead it is something that WhatsApp themselves have brought to the table, so there is no need to worry about the installation or any other security issue.
How Does It Work?
So, how does this actually work? How is it possible to read messages from an actual app on your desktop? In all honesty it is easier than you think and it is due to the creation of WhatsApp Web and this is something that really works in tandem with Google Chrome. The important part here is that your WhatsApp is still managed and controlled by your phone, but it then uses data connections to allow you to view messages on your computer.
For it to work, you do need the latest version of their app and do be aware that people using iOS could run into problems with it working thanks to Apple. When you install the app, you will see an option for WhatsApp Web and you need to tap on this before moving onto the next step.
This next step is to go to the website https://web.whatsapp.com and you will see a QR code that you are going to be asked to scan with your smartphone. This will then sync the app, your phone, and your desktop allowing you to view your messages on your computer rather than having to physically move and pick up your phone all of the time.
Does It Work Well?
The short answer here is that yes it does work very well indeed and it is a rather cool idea by WhatsApp and you can see how it would be useful in a number of situations. The fact that they have launched it themselves is an added bonus, as we previous stated, as it means you can trust it at all times and everything will indeed work smoothly. How popular it is remains to be seen, but there has to be a number of people out of their 700 million users that would think that this is a wonderful idea.
So, you can check your messages on your desktop by:
- Downloading and installing the latest version of the app.
- Be aware that iOS will not support it directly.
- You have to use Google Chrome to get it to work.
- You need to go to a web page and scan a QR code to sync your phone with your computer.
- WhatsApp themselves have created the web browsing option.
This is a cool feature brought to you by WhatsApp and it will certainly prove to be useful for a number of people who simply cannot be bothered to go and pick up their phone every single time they receive a message. It is a simple idea, but it is effective and the only downside is the issue it has with the iOS system, but then that is out of the hands of WhatsApp and the blame is firmly at the door of Apple.

SCAM: This fake message is trying to dupe WhatsApp users
WhatsApp warning! Cyber scammers are trying to attack YOU
ONLINE thieves target WhatsApp users with fake messages that could fill your phone with dangerous malware.
WhatsApp users across the world are being duped by cyber scammers.
According to website, The Market Business, fake messages are being sent out inviting WhatsApp fans to test the new calling feature.
Once clicked, users are taken to a website where they are asked to take a survey on behalf of the popular messaging service.
But the survey actually forces people to download apps and software which may contain dangerous malware.
The scam is clever as it asks you to invite friends to try the new calling feature before you can download it.
And with many people desperate to use the new WhatsApp Calling feature it could spread across the platform quickly.
WhatsApp Calling is expected to launch later this year and will allow users to phone friends and family over an internet connection for free.
Some people claim to have already used the new feature, although WhatsApp haven’t announced an official launch date yet.
If you should receive a message saying ’Hey, I am inviting you to try WhatsApp Calling click here to activate now’ don’t not click on it.
And if you receive a similar message from friends and family it's likely that their account has been hit by the scam.

WhatsApp Free Text vs Line Free Calls – The Top Features Compared
WhatsApp offers people with the solution to handle free text solutions. Meanwhile, Line also does the same thing.
It is best for people who are interested in the two options to compare them with one another to get a better idea of how these two options work for the demands that they might hold when managing their communication needs.
Accessibility
- WhatsApp does not work on any tablet. It does work on just about every smartphone model on the market though.
- Line functions on not only smartphones but also on traditional computers and tablets alike. These include options that are run with many different commonplace operating systems like the Windows Phone and iOS options.
Stickers and Icons
- WhatsApp makes it easy for people to use icons and emoticons during communication with ease. There is an extensive array of different features for people to utilize.
- Line offers more stickers featuring assorted characters to use. These can be added onto a message through a simple interface but it will take a little longer for this to be set up as needed.
Video Functions
- Line provides its users with clear video calling features. The video screen will take up the entire body of the tablet or phone while it is in use.
- In addition to working with video chats, people who use WhatsApp can also send videos in real time to others. They can also save some of their videos and store them in a cloud database for later use.
Voice Messages
- Line lets people send voice messages when they are not able to communicate with others in real time. They can record their messages and then send them as desired to anyone who is interested.
- WhatsApp also allows people to record voice messages. There is a typically limit with regards to how long a message on WhatsApp can be when compared with what can work with Line.
Sharing Locations
- WhatsApp will get access to the GPS features on a device and then take this information in real time to send details to others about where one is located. This makes the app ideal for all kinds of meet-up purposes that one might hold.
- There are not many location-sharing features available for use on Line. This comes from how Line is designed to work with many extra devices with some of them not even having access to GPS signals as needed.
Hiding Chats
- Information on WhatsApp chats can be saved to a cloud network over time. Chats are backed up on the cloud on a nightly basis but the user will have the right to cover information on one’s chats from the past if desired. The information is still kept private from others.
- Line allows people to delete their chats over time through an automatic service. Chats can be deleted within a few minutes or even within a week after they are initially posted online.
If you need to use a program that makes it easy for you to get free text and call features managed then you should compare WhatsApp and Line together. They have their advantages but they work differently in so many ways.

Encrypting data provides high level of assurance for users but it is not an easy task for a company like WhatsApp that has millions of users using their text messaging services every day.
WhatsApp Free Download Introduces End to End Encryption for Millions of Users
But, in a bold attempt, the company has officially unveiled end to end encryption solutions by default for millions of users and expects to cover their entire audience database in the coming weeks.
The security measure is something that may not be embraced by texting apps and has only been exclusively available to major players like Google, Microsoft, and Facebook among other technology providers.
In order to provide the encryption services, WhatsApp has officially collaborated with Open Whisper Systems and the entire encryption feature has been built using open source coding which makes it all the more open ended for users who value their privacy. For now, this new addition will be introduced only to Android users and there is no word yet on bringing it to the iOS platform yet but we expect that an announcement will be made soon.
End to End Encryption
If you have been wondering what WhatsApp means by end-to-end encryption solution, it is something different from the usual and ensures that no one can breach into the content stored within.
Even if a law agency asks the messaging service provider to open their messages to third parties to avoid security threats, they may not be able to do so because there is no decryption option in it. The two users who participate in the conversation will be the only ones who have the codes stored in their mobile phones and WhatsApp servers will nothing to do with it directly. It will simply act as a medium to transfer them from one end to another.
Duration of Implementation
It is being said by TextSecure, the technology created by the Open Whisper System that it might take at least six months for them to cover the over 600 million WhatsApp users. End to end encryption is already used by some services but it has never been used in such massive scale and never for millions of people at the same time.
The service provider may have a lot to do in this and it is to be seen how other tech companies adopt this new initiative pioneered by WhatsApp. The company is also planning to roll out an opt-out feature for the read message option.

WhatsApp Starting Encrypting Its Users’ Messages – Download Now
In order to protect your messages onWhatsApp, the developers have added an encryption system on the Android version of the application. The encryption added to WhatsApp messages is called TextSecure and has been developed by Open Whisper System, a non profit group. In an interview with Wired website, Moxie Marlinspike, the developer of TextSecure said that he believes that this is the largest deployment of end to end encryption ever.
For now, the encryption is being applied only to messages that are sent via the Android version of WhatsApp, but soon it will also be extended to videos, photos and even group messages that are sent via Android. Open Whisper System said that they are planning to develop versions that will support other smartphone operating systems, but they are not sure yet when that will happen.
WhatsApp confirmed that the encryption system will be turned on by default for all their Android users. We remind you that WhatsApp was bought by Facebook for 22 billion dollars in October.
At the same time, Electronic Frontier Foundation (EEF), has unveiled a project that will be cheaper and easier for smaller websites and organizations and they will use strong encryption. It is called “Let’s Encrypt” and it’s aiming to develop software tools that will automate the process of using the standard encryption systems on web.
Peter Eckersley, the EEF technology project director, said that many organizations and websites are not adopting these kinds of technologies simply because it requires installing and administrating them.
How TextSecure does actually works on WhatsApp?
TextSecure encryption uses some kind of forward secrecy, with other words it uses a fresh key for every single message you are sending. While not many users will be pleased to see the new encryption feature being added, we suggest them to not worry, as it is for their own safety.
What do you think about TextSecure being enabled by default into WhatsApp? Was this a good move made by the developers?

WhatsApp Instant Messenger Free Download – 5 Tricks to Get Free WhatsApp for Ever
WhatsApp is one of the most popular messenger applications both in Google Play Store and in Apple’s iTunes.
However, the fact that it expires after one year of free usage makes users dread the day WhatsApp use will expire. But the reality is that users do not want to use premium apps. They prefer free apps.
Extending your WhatsApp life for an eternity saves you money on airtime and data bundles since WhatsApp offers unlimited messaging capabilities. Below are tricks and tips to make WhatsApp free forever.
Change from Android Phone to Nokia
If you have been using a different phone, it is high time you consider switching to Nokia. Nokia has models which do not run on Android OS. Thus, the one year free subscription does not apply to those models. Once you have the two phones; Nokia and Android phone, uninstall WhatsApp from the Android phone and ensure your Nokia device does not have WhatsApp too. Turn the two devices off and swap the SIM cards.
Access the internet using your Nokia phone, download WhatsApp from www.whatsapp.com, and install it in the Nokia device. From then you will be able to launch the app and register your mobile phone details.
By using Nokia you will have successfully downloaded and registered WhatsApp for a lifetime. To make sure, just go to the WhatsApp “Setting” and access the “Account” option then press the “Payment Information.” It should reflect that you have a permanent subscription that does not require renewal.
Change your Phone Number
WhatsApp detects a particular phone number that you used to register it with to ascertain that it is the one under the one year subscription program. This means that if you want to extend your WhatsApp usage you can’t do so with the number that you registered with.
To extend WhatsApp for a lifetime launch your WhatsApp app and hit the Settings button. Opt for the Account and Change Number. Two boxes will show up after you press the Next button on the top right corner of your screen. Enter the new phone number on the second box since the first box contains the old WhatsApp number you have been using.
Once done, press the Continue key and the new phone number will be automatically authenticated. The process will extend your WhatsApp for one year. After that, you can repeat the process repeatedly until it becomes lifelong- one year at a time.
Let WhatsApp Expire
Once WhatsApp expires wait for at most five days for it to recognize the dormancy of your account. WhatsApp will extend a kind gesture to you by allowing you to use the application for free for a few more months. During this time you should think of how to extend its life. Alternatively, use other similar messengers such as Line and Viber to enable you chat with friends.
You can try any of the above named tricks during the grace period if you are not keen on renewing your account.
Shift from Android to Apple
Instead of installing WhatsApp on Android devices, do so on Apple devices such as iPad and iPod via the iTunes app store. WhatsApp is free in iTunes. Just search “WhatsApp Free” and download it, then install. However, before you commence this process, make sure you create a backup of the phone owner’s WhatsApp account.
Find a friend or a relative who has installed WhatsApp on their iPhones, back up their conversations and other files, and then uninstall WhatsApp from their device. The person who already has a WhatsApp account should log out of the Apple app store. The new user will then be able to install free WhatsApp using the iPhone of the person who has backed up the data. The user will just go through the normal procedure of setting up the account.
Delete the Existing Account
This is perhaps the easiest way to extend your WhatsApp life. Just delete WhatsApp messenger from your smartphone and install a new one on to the same phone using the same process. That should give you a free one year subscription. To check the remaining days of free WhatsApp use go to Settings>Account and Payment Information.
In order to delete your account, launch your WhatsApp account and navigate to Settings, then Account and finally Delete My Account. Insert your phone number and hit the Delete My Account key.
The downside of this method is that it erases your conversations and deregisters you from WhatsApp groups if you did not back up the data before deleting the account. So it’s advisable to back up useful information and restore it once you successfully complete deleting your account and installing another one.
